Are you aware that our industry has ‘levels’ of career progression as a Beauty Therapist?
To start, there’s your first year as a beauty graduate, then you officially enter the industry as ‘experienced’.
Level 1: A salon receptionist or assistant
Level 2: includes make-up artist who holds a Certificate II in make-up services, a nail technician who holds a Certificate II in nail technology or an unqualified beautician or cosmetologist.
Level 3: a beauty therapist who holds a Certificate III in beauty services
Level 4: a beauty therapist who holds a Certificate IV in beauty therapy
Level 5: suits the hairdressers who fall under the same award as beauty
Level 6: a beauty therapist who holds a Diploma in beauty therapy.
Once you’ve surpassed these levels the advancement of your career lies within specialist industry training on advanced modalities, or you can continue your career pathway through the Dermal Sciences route and move onwards into the Associate Degree in Applied Health Science (Dermal Therapy) or further into your Bachelor Degree of Applied Health Science (Clinical Aesthetics).
So many exciting pathways one can take in this endless industry! 👏🏻👏🏽👏🏿
