2027 Season

1. The promoter

The Best In Skin Awards ("the Awards", "we", "us") is operated by The Trustee for the Beaute Family Trust, ABN 56 560 962 687, trading as BEST IN SKIN AWARDS, PO Box 4026, Langwarrin VIC 3910, Australia.

By submitting an entry, you ("the entrant") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Eligibility

2.1 Entry is open to professional skin therapists practising in Australia and New Zealand.

2.2 Entrants must be 18 years of age or older.

2.3 Entry is open to individuals of all genders, ethnicities and backgrounds.

2.4 Entrants must be able to provide evidence of relevant qualification. Where documentary proof is unavailable, entrants may submit a written explanation of their circumstances including the institution attended and year of completion, which will be assessed at our discretion.

2.5 Employees, contractors and immediate family members of Best In Skin Awards are not eligible to enter.

2.6 Members of the judging panel are not eligible to enter the Awards in any season in which they serve as a judge.

3. Entry period

3.1 Entries open on Monday 24 August 2026 and close at 11.59pm AEDT on Sunday 14 February 2027.

3.2 Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances.

3.3 We reserve the right to extend the entry period at our discretion. Any extension will be communicated via our website, email and social media channels.

 

4. Entry requirements

4.1 Entries may be submitted into any of the eight categories: Hydrate, Brighten, Clear, Calm, Revive, Skin Needling, Touch Therapy and Team Effort.

4.2 One entry only may be submitted per category. Entrants may enter as many categories as they wish. Each entry constitutes a separate application and attracts a separate entry fee.

4.3 The same client journey may be submitted into more than one category, provided each entry is tailored to the specific focus of that category.

4.4 The treatment or client journey submitted must have been performed between 1 January and 31 December 2026.

4.5 Entries are not limited to facial treatments and may relate to any area of the body where skin is present.

4.6 Entrants may save an application as a draft and return to it prior to the closing date. Once an entry has been submitted it is final and cannot be amended, withdrawn or resubmitted.

4.7 Entries must be the entrant's own work. Submitting work performed by another person is grounds for disqualification.

4.8 We may at any time request further evidence in support of an entry, including treatment notes, progress photographs, client records or proof of qualification. Failure to provide requested evidence within a reasonable period is grounds for disqualification.

 

5. Photographic requirements

5.1 Before-and-after photographs must be provided from three angles — left, right and centre, or the equivalent where the treatment area is not the face.

5.2 Photographs must be unaltered. Retouching, filtering, or any digital manipulation of the skin is grounds for disqualification.

5.3 Photographs must depict the client whose journey is described in the entry.

 

6. Client consent

6.1 By submitting an entry, the entrant warrants that they have obtained the client's informed consent for the use of their images and treatment information:

(a) for the purposes of judging; and

(b) where the entry is named a finalist or award winner, for display at the awards ceremony, publication on the Best In Skin Awards website and social media channels, and use in related promotional and marketing material.

6.2 Where the client is under 18 years of age, the entrant warrants that written parental or guardian consent has been obtained and can be produced on request.

6.3 The entrant acknowledges that display of finalist and winning work is integral to the Awards and agrees that consent under clause 6.1(b) is a condition of entry.

6.4 The entrant indemnifies Best In Skin Awards against any claim, loss or liability arising from a failure to obtain consent as warranted under this clause.

 

7. Entry fees

7.1 The entry fee is $147 per entry.

7.2 Entry fees are non-refundable once an entry has been submitted.

7.3 In genuine circumstances (including a client withdrawing consent, or an entry submitted to an unsuitable category) we may at our sole discretion transfer an entry to another category within the current season, or credit it toward the following season. Transfer requests must be made in writing to hello@bestinskinawards.com before entries close.

7.4 Payment of an entry fee does not guarantee any result. Finalists and winners are determined solely by the judging panel against the published criteria.

7.5 A tax invoice will be provided on request. We do not provide advice on the tax treatment of entry fees; entrants should consult their own accountant.

7.6 $2 from every entry is donated to Transforming Beauty. Following the close of entries, we double the total donation amount.

8. Team Effort category

8.1 Entries in the Team Effort category must be submitted in the name of the clinic or business, not an individual therapist.

8.2 The name entered on the application is the name that will appear on the trophy and be announced at the ceremony. Entries submitted under an individual's name will be awarded to that individual, not the team.

8.3 One entry fee applies per entry and one trophy is awarded per winning entry.

 

9. Judging

9.1 All entries are judged anonymously. The judging panel does not see the identity of entrants during assessment.

9.2 Entries are assessed against six criteria: consultation, skin analysis, treatment, prescription, overall client journey, and before-and-after photography.

9.3 The judging panel is appointed by Best In Skin Awards and comprises independent professionals working across the skin industry. Members of the Best In Skin Awards team, and contractors engaged by Best In Skin Awards, take no part in judging.

9.4 Where an entrant is employed by, or associated with, a business owned or operated by a member of the judging panel, that judge will abstain from assessing the entry.

9.5 Judging decisions are final. No correspondence, appeal or discussion of judging outcomes will be entered into.

9.6 Following the awards ceremony, entrants will receive an indicative score band showing where their entry placed within its category. Individual written feedback and raw scores are not provided.

9.7 We reserve the right not to award a prize in any category where, in the opinion of the judging panel, no entry meets the required standard.

 

10. Finalists and winners

10.1 Finalists will be announced on Monday 29 March 2027 at 9am AEDT via our social media channels, and contacted by email.

10.2 Award winners are announced at the awards ceremony on Sunday 30 May 2027 at The Glasshouse, Melbourne Olympic Park.

10.3 Attendance at the ceremony is not required to win. Where a winner is not present, their trophy will be shipped to them within 60 days of the event.

10.4 Trophies are shipped via Australia Post. We take care to pack items securely and mark them as fragile, however loss or damage occurring in transit is outside our control and we are not responsible for it. Where a trophy is lost or damaged in transit, we will assist the recipient in lodging a claim with Australia Post.

11. Prizes

11.1 Gold, silver and bronze medals are awarded in each category.

11.2 Where two or more entries in a category receive equal scores, each will be awarded the relevant medal.

11.3 All finalists and medal winners receive a digital badge and certificate for promotional use.

11.4 Medal winners receive a trophy and a gift bag provided by our sponsors.

11.5 Gold medal winners additionally receive a professionally written press release.

11.6 Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

11.7 We reserve the right to substitute any prize with one of equal or greater value where circumstances require.

11.8 Digital badges and certificates may be used by finalists and winners to promote their own achievement only, and must not be altered, or used in a way that implies endorsement of a product, brand or business by Best In Skin Awards.

 

12. Bridget Benge Retail Excellence Award

12.1 Named in honour of Bridget Benge, whose work established retail measurement and product KPIs in the professional skin industry, this award recognises excellence in retail prescription — including the quality, consistency and communication of home care recommendations.

12.2 The award is not open to direct entry. All entries received across all categories are eligible for consideration.

12.3 The recipient is selected solely by Best In Skin Awards and the decision is final.

 

13. Intellectual property and use of entry material

13.1 Entrants retain ownership of the material they submit.

13.2 By entering, the entrant grants Best In Skin Awards:

(a) a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to retain and reproduce entry material — including images, treatment details and entrant name — as part of the permanent record and archive of the Awards, including in past-season winner and finalist listings; and

(b) a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use entry material in promotional and marketing material for the Awards.

13.3 The licence in clause 13.2(b) may be withdrawn by the entrant on reasonable written notice to hello@bestinskinawards.com. Withdrawal does not affect material already published or in production, and does not affect the archival licence in clause 13.2(a).

13.4 Entrants acknowledge that media coverage (including photography, film, interviews and podcast recording) may take place at the awards ceremony and in connection with the Awards.

13.5 Entrants grant Best In Skin Awards the right to use their name, likeness and biographical information for the purpose of promoting the Awards.

13.6 We will credit the entrant when publishing their work, except where the entrant requests otherwise in writing.

 

14. Privacy

14.1 Personal information collected through the entry process is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at [LINK REQUIRED].

14.2 Entry data is collected and stored via Zealous, our entry and judging platform.

14.3 Marketing communications are sent only to entrants who have opted in via the entry form. Entrants may unsubscribe at any time.

 

15. Disqualification

15.1 We reserve the right to disqualify any entry, without refund, where:

(a) the entry contains false, misleading or fabricated information;

(b) photographs have been digitally altered;

(c) the work submitted was not performed by the entrant;

(d) required client consent has not been obtained;

(e) the entrant behaves in a manner that brings the Awards or the industry into disrepute; or

(f) these Terms and Conditions are otherwise breached.

15.2 Where a disqualification occurs after an award has been made, we reserve the right to withdraw the award and require the return of any trophy or prize.

 

16. The awards ceremony

16.1 Tickets to the awards ceremony are open to both industry and members of the public. Anyone may purchase a ticket, whether to support an entrant, to network, or simply to celebrate.

16.2 Ticket sales, pricing and attendance terms are separate from these Terms and Conditions and will be published when tickets are released.

16.3 Photography and filming will take place at the ceremony. By attending, guests consent to their image being used in Best In Skin Awards promotional material.

16.4 We reserve the right to change the date, venue or format of the ceremony where circumstances require, and will notify entrants and ticket holders as soon as practicable.

16.5 Where the ceremony cannot proceed as an in-person event, the Awards will be completed as a virtual event. In that event:

(a) judging will be completed and finalists and winners will be announced as scheduled;

(b) all ticket holders will be refunded the full ticket price;

(c) entry fees remain non-refundable, as judging and administration will have been completed; and

(d) trophies and prizes will be shipped to winners within 60 days of the virtual event.

 

17. Limitation of liability

17.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified, including:

(a) the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)); and

(b) for entrants and guests in New Zealand, the guarantees under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ) and the provisions of the Fair Trading Act 1986 (NZ),

to the extent those laws apply.

17.2 Subject to clause 17.1, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:

(a) our total aggregate liability to an entrant arising out of or in connection with the Awards, however arising, is limited to the amount of the entry fee paid by that entrant;

(b) our total aggregate liability to a ticket holder arising out of or in connection with the awards ceremony is limited to the amount paid for that ticket; and

(c) we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of anticipated savings, or damage to reputation, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), statute or otherwise.

17.3 Subject to clause 17.1, we are not liable for:

(a) any technical failure, interruption or error of the entry platform, our website, or any third-party service, that prevents or delays the submission of an entry;

(b) any entry that is lost, corrupted, delayed or not received;

(c) the acts or omissions of any third-party supplier, sponsor, venue or contractor; or

(d) any loss or damage arising from an entrant's reliance on a judging outcome, score band or award.

17.4 Where our liability cannot be excluded but may be limited, our liability is limited at our option to resupplying the relevant service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

17.5 Each entrant participates in the Awards at their own risk and remains solely responsible for their own professional conduct, clinical decisions, record-keeping, insurance and compliance with the laws and professional standards applicable to their practice.

18. Changes to these terms

18.1 We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions. Material changes will be communicated to entrants by email and published on our website.

18.2 The version of these Terms current at the time of entry applies to that entry.

 

19. Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
